Description
The present work “Prelude & Fugue” is a cycle of two pieces for saxophones
quartet (S-A-T-B).
Prelude & Fugue ("double" fugue with two subjects) are composed in serial
atonal dodecaphonic system with all the polyphonic rules such as investments,
step to retrace, retrace in investment, double counterpoint vertical mobil and
horisontal, step in increase and in decrease (in coda stretto) etc.
Nevertheless, the general form of the (architectural) work supports a clear
functional sense, what gives to the musician a dynamics of the development and
an esthetic value respectively.
